He gains his inspiration from classics such as Buddy Holly and Willy Nelson, as well as some modern artists such as Brad Paisley and Jamie Johnson. Despite this, he refers to his genre of music simply as “Falkytonk”. I had the opportunity to work with him, producing his EP, which was comprised of “She’s Always Right,” “Redneck Heaven,” and “The Dog Song (I Got It All).” ”She’s Always Right” has gained a lot of buzz, being featured on two local FM radio stations, Great Country 107.7 & 98.9 The Pulse. This ultimately lead him to winning second runner up at the York Fair Radio Stage Challenge, and rightly so. His songs offer an element of fun mixed with some down home vocals that will have you singing along after your first listen.

Be sure to catch Mike Falk’s songs being featured on Red 102.3 FM on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 8 to 9 PM.

Front man Jordan Trevino, Phil Altenburg and Cristion Rocky have been back in the studio recently working on their full-length album, as a follow up to their EP “Checkered Past”.

They’ve recently made some additions to the band, including Zach Fallon on Bass and Mark Boeshore on Lead Guitar, adding even more depth to their work. They’ve also made the addition of a new vocalist, Cayt Lesher. Her intriguing and emotion driven vocals bring a new energy to the band’s work.

The first song that Cayt was a part of was “All Family”, a new track for their upcoming album. This song has so much energy, you find yourself engrossed after the first words escape their mouths. The bouncy, spirited vocals are captivating and the instrumentals are right there along with them.

They’ve also been hard at work on many other creative ventures, like their songs “Quick Trigger Finger” and “So Long”, which will be featured on their upcoming album. These guys just keep on bringing it in the studio and I’m sure you are all excited to see what’s next, I know I am.

After some co-writing & arranging we moved forward, and began recording acoustic guitar. Madera’s songs and strong vocals set a relaxing and spirited mood for the show. Be sure to check out Musky’s show this coming season, as well as Madera’s new album which is due to come out later this year.

Six years later his sound evolved into something very complex in texture and can not be defined by one genre with the mixture of edgy guitars and synth arpeggios.

He likes his music to create moods and take listeners to another place. Alex writes honest lyrics that are true to him so you will find it easy to connect and relate with his songs.

He’s operating as a one man band right now and recorded the drums, bass, guitars, synths & vocals himself. Alex knows what he wants so it made the recording process very quick. We recorded, mixed and mastered in 3 days.

It’s always fun working with an artist that likes to mix things up with their music but yet still has a desired sound that they are looking for.

We compliment each other very well and never know what’s going to happen when we start, but at the end of the day we are always excited about what we have created.

Sixty originally came from a background of hip hop and rap. But has drawn from a variety of music that has inspired him such as Pink Floyd and The Beatles to name a few.

In his own writing and production he has found ways to mesh all this together to be his own cohesive sound. With the release of “Saturn Synopsis” he has created a musical work of art that takes you on a journey.

For the recording of this album Sixty brought in numerous artists and friends to lend their talents including Zack Gingrich on guitar, Sean Saman for Cello and a rap feature with Godchild. I had the honor of Co-producing and also performing on his colorful compositions. Also to note that the amazing artwork was done by Jason Sullivan.

With Front man Jordan Trevino and Phil Altenburg on drums and Cristion Rocky on bass this three piece packs one energetic punch that’ll get you movin’.

From the moment we first talked and they explained what style of music they do I was hooked and excited to work with them. Needles to say they did not let me down.

If you put together jangly guitar chords over a big back beat, add a gritty bass, weave some honest lyrics with unforgettable melodies & smooth haunting background vocals, add a splash of reverb and keep it jagged around the edges you get the basic sound of Hot Jam Factory. But they are not done there…. these songs can go from sounding like old blues tunes or lean towards raw garage rock. When I hear one of their songs for the first time, I never know what we will end up doing with it.

Last week marked the start of Nathan Veshecco’s fifth studio album. Nathan brought me a handful of great song demos. I found it hard to narrow them down to the best songs for the album since they were all so good. We ended up picking a handful of songs that we both felt fit together best as an album. Like “Love, With Questions” we will be taking a more live or broken down approach to the songs.

We started out by recording the songs that will most likely stay acoustic guitar & vocal, which were done live and finished in 1 or 2 takes. Yesterday we jumped into recording the first of the drums with Marc Seeley for the songs that will have more of a band production. In the next week or two we will continue working on additional drum tracks for the album. After that we will proceed into the overdub stage which will include some guest performers and even a mini orchestra!!!

You can follow the progress of the album on Nathan’s Twitter page. This album was made possible by Nathan’s Kickstarter campaign and very supportive fans.
